Meeting Minutes
Monday, October 20th, 2025 @ 7:00pm
Emsdale Community Centre
Attendance: Kevin Ryan, Bob Harrison, Amanda Traves, Brent Stapleton, Richard Zdriluk, Fraser Bull, Terry English, Garry Fraser, Bill Bird, Susan Fetterley

1. Welcome: Kevin Ryan opened meeting @ 7:02pm
2. Approval of Agenda: Agenda Approved by Richard Zdriluk and seconded by Bill Bird
3. Approval Previous Minutes: Minutes approved by Bob Harrison and Fraser Bull
4. Business arising from Previous Minutes:
- Laptop has not been taken care of
- Bob went to Kearney council meeting about Sand Lake Assoc. concerns with speed limits within the Town of Kearney. Bob is working with the Assoc and the Town of Kearney with there concerns. It has been recommended by an OPP officer to educate the B&B’s and Resorts in the area. Lowering the speed limit is not the safest approach!
5. Membership: Not Available. There have been some issues with the website which Perry is aware of and they are working at resolving them.
6. Financials: Financials approved by Bent Stapleton and seconded by Amanda Traves. All in Favor.
7. Trails: Loggers are out on trail 36 by Branch’s Camp.
- OFSC has approved the money for the culverts in on trail 36. Snowmobile Club has no money for Camp of Many Colors trail and do not plan on using it this winter.
- Camp of Many Colors are at the hunt camp working on the trail this week.
- Brent Motioned to make a donation of $1500 to Camp of Many Colors for work on the trail. Approved by Terry English and Seconded by Fraser. All In Favor.
- Brent has talked to Mark about trail 32 and should be going out before Winter.
8. Fall Rally: Everything went Smooth all day long. No complaints heard.
9. Donations: Santa Claus’ Charity Ski Show, Kearney Dog Sled Races
- Brent and Fraser have been talking about Supporting the Kearney Santa Claus Ski Show on Saturday, November 8th. Fraser purposed we put the Club Ranger in the parade and have the back filled with food to donate to the cause. Fraser will talk to Scott, Event organizer, about the Food donation and a cash donation to the event.
- Susan will talk to Independent Grocers about support with our food donation.
- Brent mad a motion to give Fraser Bull a limit of $2000 towards the purchase of Food.
- Approved by garry Fraser and seconded by Bob Harrison. All in favor.
- Amanda Traves motioned to make the following donations for a total of $42,000.00 as described below. Seconded by Garry Fraser. All in Favor.
- Burk’s Falls Food Bank $5,000.00
- Kearney Lions Club $5,000.00
- Sundridge Food Bank $5,000.00
- Kearney Legion $10,000.00
- Highland Rovers Snowmobile Club $5,000.00
- Almaguin District Snowmobile Club $5,000.00
- Kearney Dog Sled Races $2,000.00 – 8 Dog Sled Races Sponsor
- Kearney Firefighters Association $5,000.00
10. Other Business: Garry Fraser has picked up the GPS’s for the winter. Susan to Cancel the service for the winter.
- Brent to email the Bylaws for everyone to read over.
- 2023 Income Tax is done and the 2024 Income Tax is being worked on.
- Bob Harrison has a Memorandum of Understanding draft from the Town of Kearney to be checked over
- Trails should be posted closed on December 1st
